CA$H FOR GRASS REBATES

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) offers a Turf Removal program through bewaterwise.com. Program funding is provided by MWD of which EMWD is a member agency. The City of Hemet receives water from EMWD, which qualifies the City for MWD funding opportunities. MWD offers $2 per square foot for turf removal to transition water-thirsty turf to water efficient landscape. The program outlines what landscape criteria is acceptable to qualify for the turf removal rebate. Commercial customers will have a pre-award inspection to verify the quantity of turf being removed, and a post inspection to verify the criteria is met. Residential customers may also be inspected. All administrative processes and inspections will be conducted by bewaterwise staff.

In addition to the $2 per square foot being offered through the MWD turf removal program, The City of Hemet will add additional funding of $1 per square foot to the water customers of the City of Hemet with a max amount of $100,000.00. There will be $60,000.00 allocated to commercial customers and  $40,000.00 would be allocated for residential. Funding is allocated on a first come first serve basis for both commercial and residential. APPLY NOW!
