I’m a homeowner, what do I need to have to bring to obtain a building permit?
To be authorized to obtain a permit, you will need to bring in a copy of a grant deed with your name listed as an owner and a copy of your current driver’s license. If you are sending another person to pull the permit on your behalf, you will need to provide to that person a notarized letter giving them authorization to do so. This letter must be brought in along with the previously mentioned items. For detailed information on what permit documents you need, please refer to our Informational Handouts or our Plan Check Information for your specific type of project.
