A demolition permit is good for only 60 days. All other permits, unless specifically specified, are good for 180 days from the issuance date. Except for demolition permits, if an inspection is performed and approved by a City of Hemet inspector ,on an active permit, the counting of the 180 days resets from the date of inspection. For example, your permit is obtained on July 1, 2011. You obtain and pass a footing inspection on November 15, 2011. Your permit will then expire on May 14, 2012. If subsequent inspections are passed afterwards, the same example applies.Building & Safety

If the permit is NOT expired, the applicant can submit a request in writing explaining the circumstances that have delayed the project for review and consideration by the Building Official.
