Goal

The City of Hemet aims to become a thriving hub of opportunity and empowerment for all its residents, businesses, and visitors. It seeks to harness every possible chance of growth while fostering diversity and respect for every community member.

WHAT IS THE ADOPT-A-STREET PROGRAM?

The Adopt-A-Street initiative is a collaborative effort between city authorities, residents, and business owners. Under this program, individuals or groups commit to adopting a specific street section and assume responsibility for maintaining its cleanliness. APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. The organization/group/entity interested in participating in the program will complete and submit an Application to Participate. To fill on line, click here.
  2. The application will be reviewed by the City to determine whether the proposed street is suitable for cleanup.
  3. The street will be approved or denied based on specific criteria.
  4.  The organization will be asked to complete the Volunteer Group Agreement Document once the street has been approved. 
    Volunteers added to the group after approval will be asked to fill a waiver of liability (Adult or Minor)
  5. After completing the Volunteer Group Agreement Document Status, the organization will be required to complete Safety Training.
  6. As part of the Adopt-A-Street Program, the organization has the option to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony. During this ceremony, the City Council and City Staff will acknowledge and appreciate the organization's commitment to maintaining a clean and litter-free environment in the community.
  7. A. Once all appropriate documents and training have been completed, the organization may begin the street cleanup.

Commitments Are to:


  • Pick up litter at least two times per year
  • Agree to participate in the program for three years
