DENTAL COVERAGE
The City of Hemet partners with Delta Dental for dental benefits. Delta Dental PPO is a network of dentists that have agreed to a discount payment schedule. You are not required to designate a Primary Care Dentist, and you have the choice to select any participating Delta Dental PPO dentist. You may choose to obtain services from a non-network provider; however, your out-of-pocket costs will be higher, and your annual maximum benefit will be lower. This is a fully City-paid benefit at no cost to employees.
VISION COVERAGE
The City of Hemet partners with Navia to administer the Vision Plan. This plan is a reimbursement plan which will provide a maximum annual allowance of $450 for Vision Benefits. Employees are able to visit the provider of their choice. This is a fully City-paid benefit at no cost to employees.
LIFE AND AD&D INSURANCE
City of Hemet provides Basic Life and AD&D benefits to eligible employees. The Life insurance benefit will be paid to your designated beneficiary in the event of death while covered under the plan. The AD&D benefit will be paid in the event of a loss of life or limb by accident while covered under the plan. Benefit amounts vary based on bargaining group and/or employment status. This is a fully City-paid benefit at no cost to employees.
LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE
City of Hemet offers long-term income protection through Standard Insurance Company in the event you become unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. This benefit covers 60% of the first $21,667 of your monthly base salary up to $13,000. Benefit payments begin after 30 days of disability. This is a fully City-paid benefit at no cost to employees.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT
The City of Hemet partners with Navia to administer the FSA plan. The City of Hemet offers two different Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). FSAs allow you to designate the amount of your salary during the calendar year as “Pre-Tax voluntary plan which allows you to set aside” dollars. These dollars can then be used to offset your “Out-of-Pocket” Medical and/or Dependent care expenses. The designated amount of Flex Dollars you select is called your “Annual Election”. To enroll, all you need to do is select your annual election for Medical and/or Dependent care expenses.
- HealthCare: $2,850 Yearly Maximum
- Dependent Care: $5,000 Per Household Yearly Maximum ($2,500 if you are married and filing a separate return).
The plan is subject to the “Use-It-or-Lose-It” rule: any funds left unused at the end of the calendar plan year are forfeited if no manual reimbursement claims are submitted by the end of the Runout timeframe.
VOLUNTARY LIFE INSURANCE
In addition to the employer paid Basic Life and AD&D coverage, you have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance to cover any gaps in your existing coverage that may be a result of age reduction schedules, cost of living, existing financial obligations, etc. Your election, however, could be subject to medical questions and evidence of insurability. You may purchase additional Life insurance with The Standard Insurance Company if you want more coverage. Your contributions will depend on your age and the amount of coverage you elect.
ALLSTATE INSURANCE
Voluntary benefits offered through Allstate Insurance include additional life insurance for employees, as well as their dependents, short term disability insurance, critical care, and cancer insurance. Payroll deductions for some of these options are tax deferred. Depending on which plan(s) you choose, you may be eligible for reimbursement for important Health/Wellness screenings.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION
The City of Hemet offers a voluntary Deferred Compensation retirement account through Voya Financial. Employees may contribute any amount up-to-the IRS maximum amounts for the tax year and the City will also contribute a portion toward the employee's account. City contribution amounts vary by bargaining unit/group.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Life does not always go smoothly. All of us experience times when a personal problem or crisis affects the way we function at work or home. Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with The Standard and The Counseling Team International (TCTI) is a free, confidential counseling assessment and referral service for employees and their household family members. Counselors will be able to assess your situation, recommend an action plan, and/or refer you to other resources if necessary. All calls into the EAP program are 100% confidential. Participation is not documented and will not be reported to your Employer.
