Purpose

The City of Hemet's Finance Division is responsible for the financial management of the City, including the generation, allocation, and utilization of funds to meet departmental needs. It involves budgeting, revenue generation, and investment strategies directed towards public services and infrastructure. The division ensures that funds are allocated efficiently while adhering to legal standards and public accountability and transparency. It also provides counsel to the City on all financial transactions and oversees millions of dollars in financial transactions each year.

The Finance Division is responsible for for managing the city's financial operations in accordance with established fiscal policies and performs the following services:

  • General accounting
  • Budget
  • Financial reporting and auditing

  • Tax collection
